Have you ever felt you were on the periphery of a joyous group of people and wished you could be gathered up into the center of them? There are adult parishioners who have experienced this sense of separateness and longing. Though baptized as Catholics who also received First Eucharist and attend weekly Mass, they have not been Confirmed. Confirmation is a Sacrament of Initiation, the other two being Baptism and First Communion. Confirmation strengthens the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit received at Baptism thus strengthening the graces received at Baptism. It is the full outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted the Apostles on the day of Pentecost. If you feel called to complete your initiation into your adult Catholic faith, St. Vincent’s offers adult classes.

¿Alguna vez se ha sentido en la periferia de un grupo de personas lleno de alegría y ha deseado ser acogido en el centro del mismo? Hay feligreses adultos que han experimentado esta sensación de separación y anhelo. Aunque fueron bautizados como católicos, recibieron la Primera Eucaristía y asisten a Misa semanalmente, no han recibido el sacramento de la Confirmación. La Confirmación es un sacramento de iniciación, junto con el Bautismo y la Primera Comunión. Este sacramento fortalece los dones y frutos del Espíritu Santo recibidos en el Bautismo, consolidando así las gracias allí otorgadas. Representa la efusión plena del Espíritu Santo, tal como fue concedida a los Apóstoles el día de Pentecostés.
