Associate Pastor’s Desk ~ June 9, 2024

Dear St. Vincent de Paul community,

My name is Fr. Mauricio Rodriguez. I am 39 years old, and I am originally from Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico. I was raised in a Catholic family, and I’m the youngest of four brothers. In 2006, I moved with my family to Sonoma County. In 2013, I started getting more involved in the different activities of my home parish Resurrection Church.
It was in this church that I began to learn more about my faith, and that led me to have a more intimate relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ and his Church.

A few years later, I began to feel the call to the priesthood. In 2016, I started my seminary formation. I was sent for four years to Saint Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward, Nebraska. Afterwards, for the next four years, I attended Saint Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park, CA. I was ordained to the diaconate on June 9, 2023, and was recently ordained to the sacred order of the Priesthood on June 1, 2024.

I am very grateful and proud to belong to the diocese that nurtured my faith and helped me grow in my relationship with Jesus Christ. I look forward to getting to know you and serve your families.
